الساحرة واليكم أحدها. جسر شهارة في اليمن ويقع ضمن مديرية شهارة أحدى مديريات محافظة
عمران العشرين ويقع على بعد 90 كيلومتر من
مزكز المحافظة بين اربع مديريات هي قفلة عذر
والمدان وصوير وظليمة حبور والجسر الأثري بني قبل 300 سنة ويقال جدد عام 1905
لازال يمثل المدخل الآمن لمدينة شهار مركز مديرية شهارة ويربط بين مدينتين هما
شهارة الفيش وشهارة الأمير و اللتن تقعان في أعلى قمتين لجبل شهارة العصي الوصول والذي
يرتفع حوالي 3000 متر فوق سطح البحر وبني لمقاومة العثمانيين وكان يعتبر ملجأ آمنا
للأمام عند الحاجة حيث تستطيع المدينة الأنعزال لأشهر بوجود الماء المتوفر في
مخازن كبيرة أعلى سور المدينة الواسع. والجسر الذي يمتد لحوالي 300 قدم فوق وادي
سحيق لازال السكان هناك يستعملونه في أمور حياتهم اليومية ويقولون أنهم كان في
أستطاعة السكان في حالة وجود خطر خارجي أن يفككوا ويهدموا الجسر في دقائق ويعيدون
بنائه عند زوال الخطر. ومن مهازل الأقدار في أوطان العرب أن محافظة عمران التي
يعتبرها السواح الأجانب قبلة لهم ومن ظمن كنوزها هذا الجسر ذائع الصيت عالميا (ولكن
ليس عربيا مع الأسف) قد أصبحت كلها عصية لا على السواخ وما يدر على المحافظة من دخل
وأنما على البشر أجمعين بسبب القتال والعصيان الدائر هناك كجزء من الأحداث الدامية
التي يقودها الحوثيون ولكن من المؤكد أن أهالي شهار لايبالون بأي خطر فلديهم هذا
الجسر الذي يمنع وصول أي ضيف غير مرغوب فيه. أنظر الخريطة والصور الخلابة وعسى أن يعود
السلام يوما الى اليمن لتقوم بزيارة هذا الجسر!

The Shahara Foot
Bridge: The Bridge of Sighs: Built in the early 17th Century, this famous
bridge has stood the test of time. But it was still comforting to see some foot
traffic as we approached. Just as in the old days, women used the pass to carry
grain and feed for domestic sheep. The view from the bridge at Shahara was awesome. From
both sides of the bridge the mountains parted and revealed a glimpse of the
enormous valley. Just about everything we saw was covered with terraced farms,
mostly growing qat and coffee.
Shahara is located 90 km to the northeast of
Amran governorate of Yemen. Shahar is the administrative centre of the district Shahara that is divided
administratively into two districts (Shahara and Al-Madan). The city is located
on the converging mountains; the eastern and the western known as (Shaharat
Al-Feish) and (Shaharat Al-Amir), each is 3000 metres above sea level. The two
mountains are connected by a foot bridge that was built across the ravine
separating them. Travelling between the two mountains used to require a lot of
time and effort due to the rough roads and precipitous terrain. The bridge was renovated
in 1323 A.H, 1905 AD during the Imam Yahia Bin Hameededdein’s regime to resist
the Ottoman Turkish invaders. The Shahara bridge is considered to be one of the
important Yemeni architectural innovations with the existence of a paved stone
road in the western mountain starting from at the bridge and travelling
upwards. Due to the declivity of rocks, the architect was forced to design
arches and erect the paved way that was built on them. The bridge is considered
to be a remarkable architectural masterpiece and a great world geometric work.
